All campgrounds are closed for the winter 2023-24 season. Weather permitting, we expect to reopen campgrounds in late April or early May.

Tama County Conservation facilities include:

  • 65 RV and 20 tent camping sites split between Otter Creek Lake & Park and T.F. Clark's Park
  • 70 acre lake providing easy access for fishing, swimming, and boating (currently unavailable at Otter Creek Lake & Park)
  • 2 open-air picnic shelters at Otter Creek Lake & Park
  • Open-air picnic shelter at T.F. Clark's Park
  • Tables to accommodate 200 people while picnicking 
  • Shooting and archery range 
  • 10 miles of hiking trails   
  • 5 boat ramps for access to Otter Creek Lake and the Iowa River (currently unavailable at Otter Creek Lake & Park)
  • 260 acres available for public hunting 
  • Playgrounds at T.F. Clark's Park and Otter Creek Lake & Park
  • Swimming beach at Otter Creek Lake & Park (currently unavailable)
  • Tama County Nature Center available to rent or tour by appointment
