Board of Supervisors Minutes
March 16, 2021

The Tama County Board of Supervisors met at 9:30 a.m. March 16, 2021.  Present: 1st District Supervisor, Larry Vest; 2nd District Supervisor, Bill Faircloth and 3rd District Supervisor, Dan Anderson.  This meeting was postponed from March 15th due to weather conditions.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Faircloth to approve the minutes of the March 8th regular meeting.   All voted aye.  Motion carried

The Board met with Lyle Brehm, Tama County Engineer, to get a road projects report.

The Board met with Jeremy Cremeans, 911 Director, to discuss the sale of the old Vining radio tower site at 2865 320th Street.  The tower will be decommissioned and removed but the fencing and building will stay.  There has been interest in this property.  He and his Board propose the property be sold by sealed bid.  The Supervisors agree.  Mr. Cremeans will get the process started.

The Board discussed an extension of Wellmark Insurance’s COVID coverage extension with Tammy Wise, Insurance Administrator.  Wellmark is proposing extending the waiver of cost sharing for COVID medical claims, including dental, through June 30, 2021.  Hopefully a majority of people will be vaccinated by then.  Motion by Faircloth, seconded by Anderson to extend the Wellmark COVID coverage for Tama County employees through June 30, 2021.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Faircloth to approve the claims for payment as presented.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.

Chairman Vest adjourned the meeting at 9:50 a.m.
