Board of Supervisors Minutes
January 11, 2021

The Tama County Board of Supervisors will meet via Zoom due to the COVID-19 crisis and the fact that the Administration Building is locked to the public without an appointment, all future meetings will be held this way until further notice. The Tama County Board of Supervisors met at 9:30 a.m. January 11, 2021.  Present: 1st District Supervisor, Larry Vest; 2nd District Supervisor, Bill Faircloth and 3rd District Supervisor, Dan Anderson.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Faircloth to approve the minutes of the January 4th organizational meeting.   All voted aye.  Motion carried

The Board met with Lyle Brehm, Tama County Engineer, to get a road projects report.

The Board met with Bernie Lowe & Associates to discuss the health insurance renewal.  He is estimating about a 16% increase in insurance rates for the coming year.  This will not affect employees this year.

The Board met with Bob Lincoln to learn about the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic.  They have a mobile crisis center open now in Waterloo that is available to Tama County residents.  He will be sharing and coordinating this information with the Sheriff’s office, mental health officials and schools so they are aware of the availability of it. 

Motion by Faircloth, seconded by Anderson to set the canvass time and date for the Montour Special Election held on Tuesday January 12th  and the Drainage District 1 Election held on Saturday January 16th for Monday January 18th at 8:30 am in the Supervisors meeting room. 
All voted aye.  Motion carried.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Faircloth to approve the claims for payment as presented.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.

Chairman Vest adjourned the meeting at 11:00 a.m.
