Board of Supervisors Minutes
April 26, 2021

The Tama County Board of Supervisors met at 9:30 a.m. April 26, 2021.  Present: 1st District Supervisor, Larry Vest; 2nd District Supervisor, Bill Faircloth and 3rd District Supervisor, Dan Anderson.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Faircloth to approve the minutes of the April 19th regular meeting.   All voted aye.  Motion carried

The Board met with Lyle Brehm, Tama County Engineer, to get a road projects report.

Dirk Henle, Maintenance Supervisor, was present to ask the Board to accept a bid for tiling at the County Farm.  It is from M.D. Construction, Garwin, in the amount of $22,943.50.  It is the only bid he has received on this project.  Motion by Anderson, seconded by Faircloth to accept the bid from MD Construction in the amount of $22,943.50 for tiling at the County Farm.  All vote aye.  Motion carried.

Motion by Faircloth, seconded by Anderson to approve the Recorder’s Quarterly Report.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.

The Board has been notified that they need to appoint a representative to the Middle Cedar Watershed Management Authority.  This group heads up flood mitigation projects in an area that includes Tama County and the previous appointee for the County has retired, leaving an opening.  Motion by Anderson, seconded by Faircloth to appoint Stephen Mayne, Conservation Director, as the Tama County appointee on the Middle Cedar Watershed Management Authority.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.

Laura Kopsa, Auditor, asked the Board to approve a transfer of $459,600 from the Vienna TIF Fund to the Debt Service fund to cover the bond payment due on June 1st.  These are funds collected from property taxes to cover this expense.  Motion by Faircloth, seconded by Anderson to approve the following transfer of funds:
RESOLUTION 4-26-2021A
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Tama County Board of Supervisors approves the transfer of $459,600 from the Vienna TIF Fund (0015) to the Debt Service Fund (2100) as requested by the Tama County Auditor.
Roll Call Vote: Vest, aye. Faircloth, aye.  Anderson, aye.  Resolution passed and adopted this 26th day of April 2021.  Larry Vest, Chairman, Board of Supervisors.  Laura Kopsa, County Auditor.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Faircloth to approve the Veterans Affairs’ Quarterly Report.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Faircloth to approve the claims for payment as presented.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.
