Present via Zoom: 1st District Supervisor, Larry Vest; 2nd District Supervisor, Kendall Jordan and 3rd District Supervisor, Dan Anderson.
The Supervisors have been notified per phone call from Andy Chyma, Tama, that he has to default on the county home crop ground lease. Protocol calls for the Supervisors to offer it to the next highest bidder from when they originally took bids for the lease. This was Rick H. Hopper, Toledo. He was contacted and was present at this meeting. His bid was for $33,417/per year. He would like the Supervisors to consider lowering the rent $20 per acre the first year due to the late notice. This would make the rent $31,017 for this year and $33,417 for next year. After that the Supervisors would go out for bids for another 3 year contract. The Supervisors are agreeable to this. Motion by Vest, seconded by Jordan to terminate the current county home crop ground lease with Andy Chyma due to a breach of contract. All voted aye. Motion carried. Motion by Jordan, seconded by Vest to re-assign the lease for the remaining two years of the county farm crop ground lease with a reduction of $20 per acre the first year, $31,017, and the full amount of the bid, $33,417, for the last year to Rick H. Hopper, Toledo. All voted aye. Motion carried.
Chairman Anderson adjourned the meeting at 12:10 p.m.
