The Board met with Lyle Brehm, Tama County Engineer, to get a road projects report.

Mike Thede, Toledo, was present via phone to ask the Board to re-assign Tax Sale Certificate #10-0229.  The parcel currently has $31,140 due in taxes, interest, costs and special assessments from the City of Toledo  The Tama County tax sale certificate has a balance due of $10,153 (Base tax $2,868, $7,285 is interest).  Taxes not included on the certificate total $19,851.  (Base tax $10,808 and interest $9,043)  Special assessments are $1,136.00 and include base and interest.  Mr. Thede has already meet with the City of Toledo and they have agreed to waive the special assessments on the property.  He would like to offer $6,500 for the tax sale certificate, which is almost 75% of the amount due on the certificate ($10,153.00).  He will have legal fees and clean-up costs and feels this is a fair amount and will get the property back on the tax rolls and clean up a nuisance property on business Highway 30.  Motion by Vest, seconded by Jordan to accept $6,500 for tax sale certificate #10-0229 on Parcel #1422402002 in Toledo, waiving the rest of the taxes, penalties and interest upon transfer of the property.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.
