Board of Supervisors Minutes
May 13, 2019

The Tama County Board of Supervisors met at 9:30 a.m. May 13, 2019.  Present:  1st District Supervisor, Larry Vest; 2nd District Supervisor, Kendall Jordan and 3rd District Supervisor, Dan Anderson.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Vest to approve the minutes of the May 6th regular meeting.   All voted aye.  Motion carried. 

The Board met with Lyle Brehm, Tama County Engineer, to get a road projects report. 

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Vest to approve the following resolution to transfer funds:

RESOLUTION 5-13-2019A
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Tama County Board of Supervisors approves the transfer of $310,962.47 from the Vienna TIF Fund (0015) to the Debt Service Fund (2100) as requested by the Tama County Auditor.

Motion by Vest, seconded by Anderson to approve Fireworks Permit for Gladbrook Corn Carnival, June 22, 2019.  All voted aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Vest, seconded by Anderson to approve the claims for payment as presented.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.

May 14, 2019

The Tama County Board of Supervisors met at 10:00 a.m. May 14, 2019.  Present:  1st District Supervisor, Larry Vest; 2nd District Supervisor, Kendall Jordan and 3rd District Supervisor, Dan Anderson.

Motion by Vest, seconded by Anderson to approve the following resolution to impose updated weight restrictions on county bridges:

RESOLUTION # __05-14-2019A

WHEREAS, the structures at these locations, due to age and design, have reached the point in time where a restricted weight limit should be imposed, and

WHEREAS, a portion of the weight restriction are new restrictions, and

WHEREAS, most of these structures have had weight limits imposed on them in the past and the Tama County Board of Supervisors desires to reiterate those weight restrictions,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Tama County Board of Supervisors that the following weight restrictions be imposed on these structures. The tonnages listed are the maximum gross weight of a vehicle, which already takes into account the axle spacing of common trucks in Tama County. The “1 Truck” restriction designates that only one truck is allowed on the bridge at a time. The structures are located and restricted as follows;
