Board of Supervisors Minutes
February 26, 2018

The Tama County Board of Supervisors met at 9:30 a.m. February 26, 2018.  Present:  1st District Supervisor, Larry Vest; 2nd District Supervisor, Kendall Jordan and 3rd District Supervisor, Dan Anderson.

Motion by Jordan, seconded by Anderson to approve the minutes of the February 20th regular meeting.   All voted aye.  Motion carried.

The Board met with Lyle Brehm, Tama County Engineer, to get a road projects report.

Due to the City of Toledo voting to do away with Wards in their city, the Supervisors will need to create a new, separate precinct for Toledo Township and Howard Township as they were combined with Toledo 1 as a voting precinct.  The Auditor, Laura Kopsa, would also like to combine the South Otter Creek Precinct with the Tama/Columbia Precinct as they both vote in the same building and this would create a savings on elections.  Upon visiting with the Secretary of State’s Office, this will require a meeting of the Re-districting Committee to make a recommendation to the Supervisors who will then hold a public hearing to proceed with the recommendation of the committee and the Auditor.  Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jordan to appoint Mike Wentzein, Gladbrook, Joe Boll, Toledo and Stan Graff, Tama to the Tama County Re-Districting Committee.  All vote aye.  Motion carried.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jordan to approve the claims for payment as presented.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.

Chairman Vest adjourned the meeting at 9:40 a.m.
