Board of Supervisors Minutes
April 2, 2018
The Tama County Board of Supervisors met at 9:30 a.m. April 2, 2018. Present: 1st District Supervisor, Larry Vest; 2nd District Supervisor, Kendall Jordan and 3rd District Supervisor, Dan Anderson.
Motion by Jordan, seconded by Anderson to approve the minutes of the March 26th regular meeting. All voted aye. Motion carried.
The Board met with Lyle Brehm, Tama County Engineer, to get a road projects report.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jordan to set three public hearings to make changes to County Ordinance #I.4 An Ordinance Establishing the County Supervisor Districts and Election Precincts. This is due to the combining of two precincts and the elimination of two precincts in the City of Toledo. The dates for the hearings will be April 16, 23 and 30th at 10:00 am in the Supervisors meeting room. All voted aye. Motion carried.
The Board has received notice from the United States of the Interior that the Sac & Fox Tribe have filed an application to have 20.21 acres in Section 18 of Toledo Township put into trust. Motion by Jordan, seconded by Anderson to send letters to the Department of the Interior and local state representatives and senators expressing the County’s disapproval of this going through. All voted aye. Motion carried.
At 10:00 the Board met with Bernie Lowe form Bernie Lowe & Associates to get a report on the County’s health insurance plan.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jordan to approve the claims for payment as presented. All voted aye. Motion carried.
Chairman Vest adjourned the meeting at 11:00 a.m.
