Board of Supervisors Minutes
October 2, 2017

The Tama County Board of Supervisors met at 9:30 a.m. October 2, 2017.  Present:  1st District Supervisor, Larry Vest; 2nd District Supervisor, Kendall Jordan and 3rd District Supervisor, Dan Anderson.

Motion by Vest, seconded by Jordan to approve the minutes of the September 25th regular meeting.   All voted aye.  Motion carried.

The Board met with Lyle Brehm, Tama County Engineer, to get a road projects report.

Motion by Vest, seconded by Jordan to approve the Annual Urban Renewal Report for Fiscal Year 2016-2017 as presented by the Auditor.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.

The Board met with Michelle Yuska, Treasurer, and Randy and Kris Grover, Garwin, to discuss Tax Sale Certificate Re-assignment.  The Grovers are interested in 2 pieces of property on the edge of Garwin that Tama County has tax sale certificates on.  There are also special assessments from the City of Garwin on this also.  They would like to have the County sign the tax sale certificates over to them.  The couple is planning on attending the city council meeting in Garwin this evening to discuss possibly abating a portion of the special assessments on the property if they would purchase it.  The Board asked the Grovers to let them know what the city decides before they take any action, as this will affect the amount owed on the tax sale certificate.  No action taken.

Motion by Jordan, seconded by Vest to approve the claims for payment as presented.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.

Chairman Anderson adjourned the meeting at 10:17 a.m.
